We asked each of our direct supervisors at the job site to write a quick letter to DSHS outlining our living stipend. DSHS took this with no questions asked. I am not sure if you have your benefits yet, but this might help. You can also call the VMSU (VISTA member support unit) to reuqest a letter FAXED to DSHS.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13232595708745808115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057214924774371257.post-25735358019197661072011-02-04T21:14:49.381-06:002011-02-04T21:14:49.381-06:00I can only imagine how that would feel, and yet......I can only imagine how that would feel, and yet...I'm a little ashamed to think that I hadn't even thought about it until now. At our PSO, there were several, several members that were non-traditional. Some had dredlock, others were near retirement and many had just graduated college. Some were thin, some where not, some were married but most weren't. Critics of the traditional curriculum argued that it enshrined a world view that valued older European history, for example, over American achievements. I say that not out of affection for Pocatello (which I certainly have) but because to attribute this to "Pocatello is a bunch of hicks" is to overlook the problem. There is no shortage of racism everywhere in America. Some of it is more blatant (such as this Brad Colehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09264214637857845014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057214924774371257.post-10957366715989976422009-07-16T23:21:17.367-05:002009-07-16T23:21:17.367-05:00The traditional history of Europe and early Americ...The traditional history of Europe and early America is white male history, as the white male was more or less the only one to write the history, have most major roles in society, politics, etc. So your 101 level European history class would be white male history. I truly think you are grossly over analyzing a simple comment, treating it as a poetry student would treat an ambiguous poem. Electronic devices can become very addicting, indeed, so it's good to step back and evaluate personal priorities and relationships. Are we ignoring those we should not ignore?

As a book lover, I like all your references to books, particularly the Dale Spencerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14758681072369087998noreply@blogger.com
